India’s green hydrogen sector is at a critical stage, moving from policy ambition toward large-scale implementation. Despite strong momentum from the National Green Hydrogen Mission and early pilot projects, high costs, infrastructure gaps, and weak demand signals remain key barriers. Industry bodies are calling for stronger demand-side measures, fiscal incentives, and public procurement support. The effectiveness of these measures will determine whether green hydrogen evolves from policy ambition into a core pillar of India’s clean energy transition.
