The Idea
Project Tiger, launched in 1973 by the Government of India, has been pivotal in protecting the nation’s endangered tiger population. Despite significant progress, ongoing threats like habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict demand renewed focus, innovative strategies, and increased funding to secure the species’ future.
In light of these persistent challenges and to reinvigorate dialogue around tiger conservation, a focused convening was envisioned.
Overview
To address these challenges, Mobius Foundation hosted “Tiger Talk: A Roaring Dialogue on Tiger Conservation”, bringing together conservationists, financial experts, and policymakers to explore creative funding solutions, share successes, and reaffirm the vital role of tiger habitats in preserving India’s rich biodiversity.
The event also featured a curated display of tiger photography by renowned photographers and served as a collective call to action to combat poaching, address habitat loss, and manage human-wildlife conflicts to ensure the survival of tiger populations.
