Mobile Health Camps
A collaborative outreach initiative by Mobius Foundation and SATHI, bringing essential healthcare services and health education directly to underserved rural communities.

Overview
The Mobile Health Camp initiative was designed to bridge the healthcare access gap in underserved rural communities of Sonipat and Panipat districts, Haryana. Operating from July 2018 to March 2019, the project aimed to deliver essential primary healthcare services, especially to children and women, while raising awareness about hygiene, disease prevention, and healthy living practices.
With 48 camps conducted and over 3,856 beneficiaries reached, the project exemplifies grassroots healthcare delivery in action, improving community wellbeing and reducing out-of-pocket medical expenses for the most vulnerable families.
How We Did It
Needs Assessment & Community Outreach
We began with baseline surveys and community consultations to understand local health challenges and identify villages with limited access to medical services. Villages were selected based on survey findings and community requests, ensuring the initiative responded directly to on-ground needs. Health camps were scheduled on a monthly basis and announced in advance through local schools, community centres, and village networks to encourage participation.
Delivery of Primary Healthcare Services
Each mobile health camp was staffed with qualified MBBS/MD doctors and trained counsellors who provided on-the-spot medical consultations, basic diagnostics, and personalised health counselling. Free medical check-ups and essential medicines were offered to children and families, reducing financial barriers to care. For cases requiring advanced treatment, patients were referred to district government hospitals for further medical attention.
Preventive Care & Follow-Up
Alongside treatment, the camps placed strong emphasis on preventive healthcare. Awareness sessions covered common concerns such as dengue, seasonal illnesses, hygiene practices, and nutrition. Individual health cards were created to record diagnoses and guide follow-ups, helping communities understand the importance of early intervention and proactive health management.
