Overview

In recent years, rapid deforestation placed immense pressure on ecosystems, threatening biodiversity, straining natural resources, and increasing the frequency of climate-related disasters. Forests – essential to the survival of all terrestrial life, including humans – were being lost at an unprecedented pace, highlighting the urgent need for action to restore ecological balance.

In response, the Mobius Foundation supported Project Sanjeevani, a long-term initiative focused on increasing green cover through structured and sustained tree plantation efforts. Implemented in multiple phases, the project emphasised community participation, bringing together villagers, self-help groups, school students, farmers, farmer club members, NGOs, and government officials. Through collective stewardship and local engagement, Project Sanjeevani contributed to ecosystem restoration while fostering a shared responsibility for environmental sustainability.
